Self Defence and Martial Arts

Self defence is somewhat related to martial arts. Martial art means fighting or practicing to fight. Likewise self defence also involves a bit of fighting. These two however differ from each other in their main objectives. This training is learnt by people who like to excel in fighting or police careers. However, self defence is done only to protect oneself in time of danger or at the time of attack. Self defence cannot be called martial art but on the other hand some of the martial arts can be taken as self defensive moves. Therefore, a common objective exists between these two kinds and that is to defend oneself from physical threat.

This art includes striking, grappling and weapon training. People take special classes to practice all these kinds of martial arts. Among these types, striking and weapons can be used when you are in need of self defending yourself. Striking can involve punching, boxing or karate moves. In times of danger you may find that striking is the best self defensive move in many ways. By striking the attacker, you give him an injury and you give yourself time to run way from him. Weapons on the other hand can be used in self defence to some extent. You can use only small weapons in this regard.

You can learn these things from any training school in your town. These schools give you excellent training in how to fight and how to self defend yourself. After learning the moves, you will find that your body as grown in to a much stronger one. You may have to search for different schools in order to find a perfect one.
